Gerard Arthur Way (born April 9, 1977) is an American singer, songwriter, and comic book writer. He[a] is best known as the lead vocalist and co-founder of the rock band My Chemical Romance. He released his debut solo album, Hesitant Alien, in 2014.
Way co-created and wrote the comic mini-series The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys and the Eisner Award-winning comic book series The Umbrella Academy,[1][2] the latter of which was later adapted into a Netflix series released in 2019. Way is also the co-founder of DC Comics' Young Animal imprint. In the Marvel Universe, Way is the co-creator of Peni Parker, an alternative version of Spider-Man.

At the age of 15, Way was held at gunpoint. As he said in an April 2008 Rolling Stone interview, "I got held up with a .357 Magnum, had a gun pointed to my head and put on the floor, execution-style." He went on to say that "no matter how ugly the world gets or how stupid it shows me it is, I always have faith [in it]".[7] At age 16, he appeared on an episode of Sally Jesse Raphael to discuss the controversy surrounding the publicizing of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer's crimes in comic books.[8] Way attended Belleville High School until he graduated in 1995. Deciding to pursue a career in the comic-book industry, he attended the School of Visual Arts in New York City, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1999.[5][9]
Way's first attempt at writing a comic was at the age of 16 in 1993, writing a comic book series called On Raven's Wings, published by Hart D. Fisher's Boneyard Press. The series was cancelled after the second issue, however, due to the loss of its art team. Way was credited as Garry Way.[52]
In 2007, Way began writing the comic-book miniseries The Umbrella Academy. Way wrote the story and illustrated the original version, but cartoonist Gabriel Bá redrew the art in the first volume, Apocalypse Suite.[1]
Way and fellow artists Shaun Simon and Becky Cloonan co-created another comic-book series entitled The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, which Way announced at 2009 San Diego Comic-Con. At the 2012 New York Comic Con, the team announced that the first look at the series would be released on 2013's Free Comic Book Day. The series continued the concepts introduced in the My Chemical Romance album of a similar title.[60]
In 2011, My Chemical Romance stated that Mikey and Gerard were working on another comic book project which they had kept under wraps since mid-2009. As of 2015 nothing of this project has emerged.[61]
Gerard Way and Geoff Rickly, the former faces of My Chemical Romance and Thursday, have a lot in common. They both grew up in New Jersey. They both rose to fame through fronting game-changing bands that came up in the early 2000s. And they both broke away from those bands to pursue new avenues; Way now performs under his own name and is taking his career as a comic book artist to the next level (he made his Marvel Comics debut last year with Edge of Spider-Verse #5 last year), while Rickly is balancing his time between his current bands United Nations and No Devotion.
Evan is a writer, photographer, and filmmaker based in Northern New Jersey. He aspires to write for film/TV and to create his own comic book series. When he's not working on his craft, he can be found reading, watching movies or binging shows, playing PS4, or drinking coffee. He can be found on Twitter @evtylerjohnson.
Joey Southside, vocalist of New Jersey hardcore act The Banner has announced his upcoming comic book series. Under the working title Life Is Hell, Southside is contributing the first series to My Chemical Romance guitarist, Frank Iero's, Skeleton Crew Publishing.
Currently, on my computer, is a folder filled with ideas for short stories, full-fledged novels, magazine articles, and comic book scripts. I'm not creatively handicapped like post-millennials or whatever they're called. Too busy mainlining Netflix and TikTok to have an original thought. I have good ideas...just like this Jonas Jonasson.
I stormed off to the basement like a child sent to time-out. I prefer to unhealthily analyze life events in solitude anyway. My Sanctum Sanctorum is a finished basement you'd find in most thirty-year-old ranch-style homes only the walls are adorned with comic book art and family photos from varying conventions. My writing desk sits in a corner cutout below two rows of bookshelves displaying the great works of literature in my possession. Dumas, Murakami...then the rest devolves into graphic novels and paperbacks.
Black Widow was first seen in 1964 as an antagonist in the comic book feature "Iron Man#. 56 years later Natasha Romanoff is set for her first film featuring her as the main character, set between Civil War and Endgame with rumours to include few other well known faces. Show appreciation to your favourite superheroes with these brilliant designs. 2ff7e9595c
